This new free pattern is surprisingly simple. It uses basic herringbone stitch from a base row -- with a tiny bit of ladder stitch -- and two sizes of round Japanese seed beads.
When I started designing these, I was inspired by a pair of metal chain earrings worn by Danielle in the second-to-last round of the show Design Star...and, as sometimes happens, this pattern looks nothing like them. But I'm having fun with them, nevertheless.
